GREENBUILD 2024. PHILADELPHIA, PA
This year, the enviENERGY team had the privilege of attending the Greenbuild International Conference & Expo in Philadelphia, PA, an event dedicated to the advancement of green building practices and sustainability. At the conference, we had the opportunity to showcase our expertise in energy modeling and sustainable design.
On November 11, enviENERGY Studio LLC, in collaboration with Brandywine Realty Trust and Gensler, hosted an engaging tour of our newly completed project, 3151 Market at Schuylkill Yards. This 14-story building, targeted for LEED v4 Platinum and WELL Silver certifications, is a prime example of how cutting-edge design can integrate sustainability and wellness. The building features a dynamic glazing system, a rainwater collection and reuse system, and multi-modal transportation access. Additionally, the design prioritizes occupant wellness, with expansive floor-to-ceiling windows and direct outdoor access at every level.
enviENERGY team members also engaged in insightful discussions and presentations during the event. Amelia Negrete, Sustainability Consultant, found a panel discussion that highlighted the importance of valuing diverse expertise, particularly impactful. This session specifically noted that the knowledge of community members and facility maintenance professionals is just as crucial as that of architects and engineers in the success of a project.
Gabriel Echeverria, Senior Sustainability Consultant, attended an informational session on the deconstruction of wood structures, and the resulting economic and environmental benefits of repurposing the material. The discussion emphasized that reusing wood rather than sending it to landfills not only reduces costs but also contributes to sustainability goals.
Greenbuild 2024 provided an invaluable platform for enviENERGY to connect with industry leaders, exchange ideas, and demonstrate our commitment to driving sustainable innovation in the built environment.
